Astro Bot’s Upcoming Adventure on PlayStation 5
Anticipation for the Next Installment
Astro Bot is yet to make its debut on the PlayStation 5, but the developers at Team Asobi are expressing a strong belief in the character’s future. Although we can’t predict a game’s success before its release, it’s reassuring to see the confidence behind one of the most eagerly awaited PS5 exclusives of 2024. Once a humble PSVR character, Astro Bot is rapidly becoming a mascot rivaling the likes of Kratos and Ratchet & Clank.
Recently, on platform X (formerly known as Twitter), user Genki_JPN shared a leaked list of every trophy included in the upcoming Astro Bot game. Notably, the description for the Platinum Trophy reads: “Earned all Trophies. Well done and see you in Astro’s next adventure!”
While this isn’t an official announcement of a sequel from Team Asobi, it strongly suggests that the developers are planning more for Astro Bot. Whether this means a dedicated sequel or a cameo in another project remains to be seen, but fans can rest assured that Astro Bot’s journey is far from over.

Understanding Astro Bot
Rising as a Platforming Icon
Astro Bot has evolved significantly since his debut in Astro Bot: Rescue Mission, a PSVR exclusive where he embarked on a mission to save his endangered crew. After starring in Astro’s Playroom, a complimentary “demo” included with the PlayStation 5, this plucky android is ready for an even grander adventure. In this traditional 3D platformer, Astro Bot will navigate through 80 unique levels, once again tasked with locating and rescuing his missing crew members.
One of the game’s most exciting features for PlayStation 5 owners is its homage to other Sony games. Throughout his journey, players will encounter various Bots that pay direct tribute to iconic characters like Kratos from God of War, Aloy from Horizon, and Nathan Drake from Uncharted. These clever nods to other franchises promise to be more than simple cameos, although the extent of their gameplay integration remains a mystery.
Astro Bot is scheduled for release on September 6, which is just around the corner. As a PlayStation 5 exclusive, there’s hope that this period of limited first-party Sony games will allow Astro Bot to shine brightly in the gaming spotlight. If all goes well, the promise of the Platinum Trophy description will come to fruition.
